1) We have our third snow day in 3 weeks. With Family Day coming up on Monday that will be one month of 4 day weeks. I think God’s sending a message.
2) Speaking of messages from God, full on shout out goes to our guest homilist from last Sunday who quoted Seinfeld (twice), mentioned the Leafs and intimated that I won’t burn in hell for being divorced.
3) The birds may also have been sending messages as they scarfed down a bag of food in three days. Well, they ate about half and spilled the other half on the ground for the squirrel…the bird’s version of a remora.
4) Dan Mangan is a great artist. But shouldn’t have remade Michael Bublé’s ‘Home’.
5) Currently reading: Lab Girl by Hope Jahren. Funny and smart. There’s a line up waiting to read it after me. Best sentence so far came when Hope had started as a grad student supervising undergrads digging and examining holes in the dirt.
“The average person cannot imagine himself staring at dirt for longer than the twenty seconds needed to pick up the object he just dropped…”
6) Just about every educational institution is closed today. Except UofT. Sorry Peter, Steph, Ben and Emma. Watch for ice. And don’t slam the door on your way out.
7) Pitchers and catchers report today for Spring Training.
8) Best way to see opera? At Cineplex theatres during their The Met Live in HD series.
9) hmmmm…yard is filling with snow, but the deck remains bare. Science is fascinating.
10) Song of the Day on CBC Music – Rage Over a Lost Penny, Vented in a Caprice, Beethoven
